Beatrix Potter was born on July 28th, 1866 with No 2, Bolton Backyards, Kensington, London. A standard Victorian family, the Potters lived in a large house with various servants. At age 27 Beatrix wrote a picture letter to Noel Moore, the five-year-old son of the woman\’s ex-governess. The story was in regards to mischievous rabbit called Chris. Trusting that the book would make once and for all reading, she thought to have it published. At first she had sent that book to six different publishers and these were reluctant to distribute it. Although the publishers turned her straight down, your lady went ahead and produced the book at her own expense (one shilling with 1902 or 5p just by current standards). The book was an instant hit, which came as a big surprise not only to the publishers that switched her down, but also to Beatrix herself.

Involving 1902 and 1930 Beatrix Potter published a total of 23 books. Beatrix Potter s books have been completely translated into more as compared to 35 languages and sold over 100 million illegal copies.

With 1908 Beatrix Potter went to the Lambeth studio along with the proposition to immortalize the woman\’s storybook characters in ceramic. It was indeed a decent idea, but unfortunately due to a previous contract with a German china firm, your production of Beatrix pottery can\’t begin. Being a matter of fact, production would start in 1947, four years after Beatrix Potter s death.
